Fr Antony Percy, STD, was ordained in 1990 for the Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn. He spent nine years as an assistant priest and administrator in parishes until 1999 when he began post-graduate studies at the John Paul Institute in Washington, D.C. He returned to Australia in 2003 with a doctorate in Sacred Theology, Fr Percy was appointed Parish Priest of Goulburn. In 2005 he published Theology of the Body Made Simple which was re-published in 2006 and 2007. In 2009 he took up the position of Rector of Good Shepherd Seminary.
Fr. John Grieg was born in Wollongong NSW and is the third youngest of four boys. After going on a retreat of total silence it became clearer to him what God was asking of him. In 1979 Fr. John entered St Patricks College Manly. Fr. John’s served as an assistant priest in Sacred Heart Parish Pymble, Holy Spirit parish North Ryde and then St Aloysius Parish Cronulla. He was fulltime Hospital Chaplain of both the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and the Children's Hospital Camperdown. Fr. John was Parish Administrator of St Ambrose Concord, Parish Priest of Mary Immaculate Church Bossley Park, and then St Joan of Arc Parish Haberfield where he served until 2008. In 2008 Fr. John was asked by Cardinal George Pell to come to the Seminary of the Good Shepherd as Pastoral Director, then was later appointed Vice Rector of the Seminary.
Fr Bernard Gordon completed his studies for the priesthood at St Patrick’s Seminary, Manly in 1993. He graduated in the Bachelor of Theology in 1991 and then in the Baccalaureate of Theology in 1993. On April 9th 1994 he was ordained to the priesthood and incardinated into the Diocese of Wollongong, NSW, and served as assistant priest in the parishes of St Joseph’s, Bulli and St Michael’s, Nowra. During the years 2001 to 2003 Fr Gordon studied The Theology of the Spiritual Life at the Pontifical University of St Thomas Aquinas in Rome, completing his Licentiate with the honour of Summa Cum Laude in 2003. His thesis was entitled St Joseph: Living Icon of Fatherly Love. On many occasions Fr Gordon has preached retreats and taught in-services for different groups, in particular for the Missionaries of Charity in Rome, Naples, Dublin, London, Albania, Sydney and in the African nations of Ghana and Tanzania. From November 2003 to 2007 he served as Parish Priest at St Anthony’s, Picton, NSW. Since 23008 he has been the First Year Director at Good Shepherd Seminary, Homebush, Sydney. Sr. M. Isabell Naumann ISSM STD, since 2007 Dean of Studies at the Seminary of the Good Shepherd, Homebush, is a member of the Secular Institute of the Schoenstatt Sisters of Mary (ISSM). She holds a Doctorate of Sacred Theology from IMRI, University of Dayton/USA and the Pontifical Institute Marianum, Rome/Italy. She teaches Systematic Theology at the Catholic Institute of Sydney (a member institution of the Sydney College of Divinity); is an adjunct Professor in Systematic Theology at the John Paul II Institute for Marriage and Family in Melbourne/Australia; is a Professor of Theology at the International Marian Research Institute, University of Dayton, Dayton/USA; a Visiting Professor in Theology and Religious Studies at the University of San Carlos, Cebu/Philippines; works in Adult Faith Formation, and is a teacher and speaker in the tradition of Schoenstatt. She is a member of the Pontifical International Marian Academy, Rome, ITALY, of the Mariological Society of America, Dayton, OH, USA; of the Catholic Theological Society of America, Washington, DC, USA; of the Australian Catholic Theological Association, Sydney, is a member of the Pontifical Council for Culture and serves on various academic boards and councils. M. Isabell is also the Financial Administrator of the Australian-Philippine province of the Secular Institute of the Schoenstatt Sisters of Mary.
Br Eugene (Peter John) Dwyer was born in Richmond (Melbourne) in 1941. He entered the Marist Brothers (Juniorate Macedon / Wangaratta; Novitiate: Macedon; Scholasticate: Dundas NSW & Sydney University). Taught in Marist schools prior to being directed to post-grad studies in New York and Rome. Studies include B.Sc., Dip.Ed., B.Ed., M.A. (N.Y., Fordham); Ps.L (Rome, P.U.G.). Memberships have included M.A.C.E., M.I.S.P.P., M.I.A.C.C.P., Guild of Catholic Psychiatrists. Currently registered clinical psychologist and M.A.P.S. Since 1978 has been involved in Formation work , Consultant and Lecturer) with Marist Brothers / other religious / seminarians in Australia/NZ, PNG-SI, Indonesia, and Pacific; East Africa & Ghana; Philippines. Has participated in a number of F.M.S. Congregational Commissions Eugene has been member of Provincial Councils, Chapters, Melb Archdiocesan Ecumenical Affairs Commission, Education Commission; facilitated Chapters & workshops for religious , priests, and formandi. Br Eugene was asked by Cardinal Pell to take up a position in Human Formation at SGS in 2005.
Sr. Lydia Allen RSM, Ph.D. (Psychology), M.A. (Religious Studies), is a licensed clinical psychologist and has practiced clinical psychology with adults, including priests and Religious, and with children in private practice settings in the USA and Germany. She is a consultant at the Congregation for Catholic Education at the Vatican in Rome, Italy. Sister Allen has taught Transactional Analysis in workshops throughout Europe, in the US and Israel. Fr Edmond (Ed) Travers belongs to the Order of Missionaries of the Sacred Heart (MSC) and has been a priest for 38 years. For 32 of those years he has been directing retreats. For 12 years he served fulltime as the director of his congregation’s retreat house of St Mary’s Towers at Douglas Park on the outskirts of Sydney. Fr Ed was on parish staff for 15 years in Darwin, Sydney and Hobart and parish priest on two occasions. In his Darwin days he was part time chaplain to the Army in the Northern Territory. During the 1990s he was on the staff of the then National Seminary for mature aged candidates in Kensington, NSW. Having directed the thirty day Ignatian Exercises for first year students of Seminary of the Good Shepherd for four years, since 2005, he has now joined the staff as the full time spiritual director. |
