Every year after the Mass of the Lord’s Supper the Seminarians visit seven churches in Sydney. This beautiful tradition was said to have started by St Philip Neri and is practiced all around the world, as pilgrims move from altar to altar, spiritually accompanying Christ as he enters his Passion. As Jesus asks of his apostles, in the Garden of Gethsemane, “Could you not spend one hour with me?”
In each church, pilgrims kneel before the altar of repose and spend time with Jesus in adoration. While journeying from church to church pilgrims meditate on Scripture from the Gospel of Mark and pray a decade of the Rosary.
