We start our new year at the seminary welcoming seven seminarians to the spiritual year, Adam Brereton, Bijoy Joseph, Josh Gaddi, Mark Anderson and Ben Saliba from the Archdiocese of Sydney, Sam French from Broken Bay and Eden Langlands from Canberra & Goulburn. And we look forward to welcoming three others from the Broken Bay Diocese once they have obtained their visas.
Bishop Terry Brady presided at our Opening Mass with Bishop Bill Wright and many vocations directors from surrounding Dioceses. It was a very warm and joyful celebration with lunch following with the families of our new men. Our retreat this year was led by Fr Aloysius Rego OCD and, after this week of prayer we entered into a week’s workshop on building evangelizing parishes.
So we have been back three weeks and now begin the academic year with much to look forward to including many ordinations of our seminarians throughout Australia and, indeed we pray, in Trinidad, the West Indies.
May God be with us and guide us in all our endeavours.
